BEGINNING

We have been assigned from our lecturer,Sir Razi Jalaldeen to create a blog and we have chosen the topic challengers of social networking. We select this topic since nowadays social networking has been part of everyone life. We hope this blog will give a beneficial information to all of you.


What is the first thing that comes through our mind when talking about social networking? Why do people of all ages join SNS?

There are many answers we can get from this question. Definitely we will think about Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and other social network sites that able us to get connected with our old friends as well as can make us meet a new friends. Moreover, we are able to get updates from our loved ones and also discussing different important topics with people over the world. Another reason people involved in SNS is that they are going with the flow of the new age technology.

In fact, people using SNS like blogging to make business and gain a lot of money. Indeed, students like us also gain benefit by SNS because we can know important news from our friends about our studies such as when the result for final examination will come out. However, there are several challengers of social networking sites on our day to day life. Time consuming, unsocial, commit suicide, security&privacy and marketing challengers are the top challengers that we will discuss at here;



















































COMMIT SUICIDE

Suicide on social network is not a common issue. A lot of cases being reported and this kind of issue should not happened. These are some videos that we found from YouTube that can be the evidence from what we says.Enjoy watching the videos~

SUICIDE AFTER HIS ROOMATE BROADCAST A VIDEO ONLINE

One of the students from Rutgers University commit suicide after his roommate broadcast his intimate encounter with a guy on the internet.The student, Tyler Clementi, jumped from the George Washington Bridge in an apparent suicide.

FAKE IDENTITY

This case is reported in 2006. A lady Megan Maeier hanged herself after she break up with a guy, who she used to know from a social network, Myspace. Actually, the guy is not exist.There is a video that we manage to download which tell the full story of Megan Meier.




COPYCAT SUICIDES



This incident is reported at Bridgend, South Wales. Natasha Randall, 17 without any sign that she was unhappy, hanged herself in her bedroom. Her death was the latest in at least seven apparent copycat suicides in Bridgend, South Wales. Police believe that they may be prompted by messages on social networking websites such as Bebo.

In the 12 months before Tasha’s death, six young men from Bridgend had killed themselves. Most were known to each other. Copycat suicides are a well-known phenomenon but in Bridgend the tributes left on websites such as Bebo appear to have had a significant impact. Friends have set up memorial pages where wellwishers have posted messages or bought virtual “tablets” in a remembrance wall. The 19 tablets on Tasha’s memorial page include the messages “RIP chick”, “Sleep Tight Princess” and “Sweet dreams, Angel”.
Melanie Davies’s son, Thomas, was the third young person from the area to kill himself last year. Mrs. Davies, 38, said: “One of his friends told me that they feel these kids seem to be  c
copying each other, so many of them are hanging themselves.

Lot of social network users being cheated via network criminal.Without any doubtfulness they feel free to give their personal detail, in fact their bank account to a stranger.

Report says, global network criminals trick consumer market promotion to money.The incident are increased gradually. Criminals are good in making away out and achieve target material, lock with high return value objects for fraud.

Report on social networks, says global the “fishing” attack and fascinate case is increasing. Social networking sites and the rise of online game makes network criminals to new crime against pirates, in addition to direct an attack mode, and can through user fake users to attack their friends, colleagues and family. These malicious way is often use of existing social promotion mode platform, such as financial and product promotion, thereby fraud users download malicious money or lure its content.

According to statistics, 2010 social networking “fishing” against increased 1200%. “Fishing” attack generally will pretend to be legitimate information attract network users click malicious links, buy rogue software, or disclose personal information.
